About the Role:
An established and respected Gold Coast law firm is seeking an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented Family Law Assistant / Secretary to join their well known and respected team. This is a pivotal role supporting a team of Family Lawyers and Paralegals in the day-to-day operation of a busy family law team. You’ll be valued for your experience, initiative and ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and care. Some paralegal duties may be included; however, this is primarily an administrative role.

About You:
As a Legal Assistant or Secretary, you will bring 1 – 2 years experience (preferably in family law or litigation) and will be either a career legal support star or still have 2 years + of legal studies to complete. You will pride yourself on delivering high-quality legal support. You will understand the importance of discretion, consistency and client care, and you thrive in a structured but team-oriented environment.

You will have:

  • Confidence in managing legal files, dictation, court documents and correspondence
  • A professional, proactive approach to your work and strong organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and general tech literacy, and
  • The ability to work independently as a supportive team member.

You will be expected to:

  • Draft and format legal correspondence and court documents
  • Manage incoming calls and client communication with professionalism and empathy
  • File opening, closing, and general matter management
  • Dictation typing and preparation of disclosure material
  • Diary and appointment management
  • General office and administrative support
