The opportunity

An incredibly unique practice on the Gold Coast is seeking a capable Family Lawyer (4–5 years PAE) who is ready to run their own files and practise with genuine autonomy.

This role is suited to a technically strong lawyer who enjoys property and financial matters, wants ownership of their work, and is open to practising outside a traditional partner reporting model. There is an existing workload for the successful candidate to manage, and marketing and business development is taken care of for you – no need to bring in or generate work here, this firm is looking for technically proficient Family Lawyers who are interested in managing files through a unique system that is individual to this firm and has been developed with a view to being transparent to the client.

You will be trusted to manage matters end-to-end and focus on strategy, outcomes and client rights rather than volume or micromanagement.

The role

You will work primarily on property and financial disputes and will be responsible for managing your own files from commencement through to resolution, including trial work where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Running your own family law matters independently
• Managing property and financial disputes end-to-end
• Preparing matters for hearing and trial where required
• Developing and executing clear legal strategies
• Delivering advice focused on outcomes and client rights
• Collaborating closely with other lawyers and colleagues

About you

This role will suit someone who brings:

• 4–5 years PAE in Family Law
• Strong experience in property and financial matters
• Confidence managing files without close supervision
• A technically focused, detail driven approach
• Sound judgement and strategic thinking
• Comfort with autonomy, accountability and responsibility
• Openness to innovation and different ways of working
