Family Law | Senior Associate to Special Counsel
A highly regarded specialist family law practice in Sydney is seeking an experienced Family Lawyer at Senior Associate or Special Counsel level to join its growing team.
This is an opportunity to work within a technically strong, well-respected practice known for its strategic approach to complex family law matters. The firm is consistently recognised by Doyle’s Guide.
The Practice
The firm acts across sophisticated family law matters, with a strong emphasis on financial and property work. The mix of matters includes
- Complex financial property settlements
- High value private client matters
- Binding financial agreements
- Parenting matters requiring careful strategy and judgment
- Mediation and dispute resolution
- Court work where required
While the team is fully litigation capable, the firm’s approach is collaborative and resolution focused. Matters are prepared with litigation readiness, but without unnecessary escalation. The majority of files resolve prior to final hearing.
The Role
You will work autonomously on quality matters while being supported by a close knit, experienced team. This role suits a lawyer who enjoys technically rigorous family law work, values proper preparation, and takes pride in delivering clear, strategic advice to clients.
The position offers exposure to complex matters, genuine client responsibility, and the opportunity to continue developing within a stable and well-structured practice.
About You
- Admitted as a lawyer in Australia
- Ideally 5+ years PAE in family law
- Strong experience in property matters
- Confident drafting, advocacy, and negotiation skills
- Calm, considered approach to client management
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
