Employment Lawyer | ER, IR & Workplace Safety | Brisbane
About the firm:
This is an opportunity to join a respected commercial law firm with a strong Brisbane presence and an established employment, industrial relations and workplace safety practice.
The team acts for employer clients across a range of industries and is known for providing practical, commercially focused advice on complex workplace issues.
You will be working with experienced senior lawyers in a team that offers quality work, direct client contact and genuine career development.
About the role:
You will work across a broad range of employment, workplace relations, industrial relations and safety matters.
Depending on your level of experience, your work may include:
- Advising employer clients on employment and workplace relations matters
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and workplace documents
- Managing workplace investigations, performance issues and terminations
- Acting in general protections, discrimination and employment disputes
- Advising on industrial relations matters and workplace strategy
- Assisting with WHS, safety incidents, compliance and regulatory matters
- Appearing in, or assisting with, court, commission and tribunal matters
- Managing client relationships and mentoring junior lawyers at the senior end
About you:
You will have experience in employment law, workplace relations, industrial relations or workplace safety, ideally from private practice.
You may be an Associate, Senior Associate, Special Counsel or Partner-level lawyer.
You will bring:
- Experience acting for employer clients
- Strong drafting, advisory and matter management skills
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- A practical and commercial approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Interest in continuing to build your career in employment, IR and safety
Experience across WHS, employment litigation, workplace investigations, industrial relations, government clients, corporate employers or SME clients will be highly regarded.
