The Opportunity:
Our client, a progressive and expanding mid-sized law firm with offices in Melbourne and Sydney, is seeking a Principal – Commercial Law to lead and grow their practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role with a clear path to equity partnership, within a firm that values transparency, autonomy, and collaboration.

Duties:
- Lead & expand a profitable commercial law practice, bringing an existing client base of approximately $500K+.
- Mentor & manage a small team of junior lawyers, fostering growth and development.
- Provide strategic legal advice on complex commercial transactions & disputes.
- Work with high-profile clients across industries such as FMCG, Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Technology, Government, and Start-ups.
- Play a pivotal role in business development and the firm’s ongoing expansion.
About You:
- 10+ years’ PAE in Commercial Law, with strong transactional and advisory experience.
- A transferrable client base of approximately $500K+.
- A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring junior lawyers.
- A commercial mindset, with the ambition and drive to contribute to firm growth.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster long-term client relationships.
