About the business

Our client is a global company headquartered here in Melbourne that creates innovative products and brands for sale locally and internationally. With a small and expanding legal team, and friendly and capable General Counsel, it seeks to add a key mid-level lawyer.

About the role

A key mid-level role, this position reports direct to the GC and will be responsible for mentoring a junior lawyer and dealing with executives directly in the business. With a positive and outgoing culture, the business seeks a lawyer who will enjoy engaging with others, and contributing not just legally, but commercially.

The work on offer will be varied, but will include commercial advice, contracts and contractual negotiations, IP and brand protection. While at times you will work alone, the business has a strong team ethos, and you will be exposed to a range of other professionals as you add value to the business.

To be considered

To be considered you will be a front end commercial or perhaps IP lawyer, with at least 3 years of post-admission experience gained in a quality law firm or business. You will work on tenders, supply contracts, licensing, IP infringements, compliance, privacy and risk. You will be confident but not arrogant, and fit in well with a range of personalities and enjoy a social workplace.

The benefits

Working with this great business includes a range of benefits, including hands-on mentoring, broad commercial involvement, free in-office breakfasts and lunches, some WFH, training and workplace flexibility.
