About the Role:-

Reporting to the Principal and working alongside a Partner and a strong supporting team, you will:

• Run your own diverse caseload across property settlements (including complex matters involving business interests, trusts and corporate structures), parenting, spousal maintenance, divorce, BFAs, domestic violence, mediation and Court work
• Take carriage of files from initial conference through to settlement, mediation, or final hearing as required
• Provide commercial, outcome-focused advice delivered in plain English
• Mentor junior lawyers and graduates as required — sharing your knowledge, reviewing work, and helping shape the next layer of the team
• Engage directly with clients and counsel, with autonomy and Principal-level support when matters call for it

About You:-

• Minimum 5+ years' PAE in family law (Australian admission essential)
• Confident running a busy file load independently, including matters with financial complexity
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and Court advocacy skills
• A commercially minded, pragmatic approach — you understand when to settle and when to litigate
• Plain-English communicator who can build rapport with clients during a difficult chapter of their lives
• Genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior practitioners
• QLS Accreditation as a Specialist in Family Law (or working towards) will be highly regarded but is not essential
