About the opportunity

Our Legal Counsel team provide high quality legal advice to ensure that our legal obligations are met, and legal risk managed, to ensure the protection of our interests and reputation.

The role of Legal Counsel (Corporate) will have the key accountabilities of providing advice around corporate and commercial law, commercial litigation and risk management, employment law and other legal support and advice. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Legal Counsel (Corporate) this role will liaise with the legal counsel team, General Counsel, EGM Corporate Services and GM, Code Compliance and Monitoring as well as regulatory bodies, external law firms and commercial counterparties/suppliers.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:

·Relevant tertiary qualifications in law and several years in a corporate lawyer role, with some commercial litigation desirable.

·Ability to make accountable and logical decisions, including demonstrated skills in analysing and investigating issues, and developing and negotiating solutions

·Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

·Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

·Ability to work effectively in a busy and fast paced environment while maintaining a customer service focus.

·Self-motivated, resourceful with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

·Excellent logical, open, analytical and lateral thinking skills.
