Our client is an ASX 100 blue-chip industrial business with a substantial market cap, significant local and global assets, and a profitable and sustainable business. It’s large legal team is well ranked, full of quality lawyers, and actively engaged within the business and highly sought by it. 

The role

Joining the Australian legal team as legal counsel, in perhaps your first in-house position, this role offers both hands-on business engagement and broader work within the legal team, and readily available mentoring from a senior lawyer charged with ensuring your success. Broad in scope, the position has a focus on assisting the business to grow and move forward, supporting corporate, sales and marketing, procurement, commercial and projects and taking into account commercial imperatives, risk and compliance as you do. 

Who it will suit

Suited to a pro-active and team oriented up and coming commercial lawyer, this role will require a well trained and intelligent lawyer with quality drafting and advisory skills, superior commercial nous, and good interpersonal skills. As the legal team is closely knit and high-quality, someone who is keen, motivated and able to contribute will be highly sought. Best suited to front-end lawyers from transactional, corporate or commercial backgrounds, the position will enable you to work closely with the sales and marketing team, and other business units, as you contribute as a respected advisor and assist the business meet its goals, while ensuring risk and compliance is achieved.
