The Position

The Group General Counsel role is a pivotal one and as such has a role on the Group Executive. The General Counsel is responsible for strategically managing all ongoing and external influences that directly (or have the potential to) impact NOVA’s profitability, operations and commercial initiatives. You will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, working directly with the Chief Executive Officer and engaging with the Board.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing interactions with existing, amended or new legislation and associated enforcement by regulatory bodies
• Privacy and cyber security
• Corporate undertakings – including director and officer duties, commercial radio licence obligations and broader industry interaction
• Leading or co-leading major commercial transactions on behalf of the Group
• Dispute Resolution and Crisis Management

You

You will be a commercial, talented, solutions focused and engaging senior lawyer who is already employed at General Counsel level. Your credentials will include private practice training and ideally in-house experience gained from within the entertainment industry. Your interpersonal skills are legendary, with the ability to influence, negotiate and engage with people at all levels. You will be leading and mentoring a small high performing, dynamic legal team.
