Job Description
Our multi-award-winning firm is looking for a Senior Family Lawyer who ticks the boxes below.
* Minimum 5+ years PAE in family, care & protection, and mental health law
* Strong knowledge of Federal Circuit and Family Court and Children's Court NSW practice, procedures, and rules
* Strong affidavit drafting skills
* Able to communicate with high-level client management, demonstrating a strong understanding of the client’s matters and managing/meeting client’s expectations
* Exceptional organisational and negotiation skills
* The ability to work independently and autonomously with a strong work ethic
* High level of emotional intelligence and ability to demonstrate empathy, clarity and perspective-taking when liaising with clients
* High level of attention to detail and focus on client outcomes
* Desire to deliver results
* Precision and accuracy in the management of deadlines

You’ll walk in and probably have a chat with your colleague over a coffee in the kitchen. See when we say we want to create a great culture, we mean it! After you settle in, this role will see you working closely with New South’s highly experienced Directors, as well as collaborating with members of the extended team.
During the course of your role, you will be given the opportunity to manage a range of family law matters, as well as mentor a team of junior staff. These matters may include:
* Children's matters - including care & protection, child protection, child support, and parenting arrangements
* Property matters - including complex property matters and spousal maintenance
* Divorce & separation
* Domestic violence
* Property matters
* Financial agreements
* Experience in collaborative law practice
