Associate Lawyer – Corporate and Commercial

Job Description

Due to significant growth, our expert commercial and corporate team are looking to recruit a star Associate to join their close-knit and successful team. Some of the work the team currently undertakes includes:

  • mergers and acquisitions;
  • corporate advisory;
  • complex property transactions (including development management agreements, project delivery agreements, joint venture agreements, shopping
  • centre acquisitions and office building acquisitions);
  • banking and finance (both corporate and property);
  • capital raising (both debt and equity);
  • shareholder and unit holder agreements (and other advisory work with start-ups);
  • intellectual property protection and associated agreements;
  • corporate structuring and asset protection advisory;
  • nationwide retail and commercial leasing;
  • employee share plans and option agreements;
  • general commercial drafting and negotiation of various agreements (including management agreements, service agreements, employment agreements, contractor agreements, sponsorship agreements, agency agreements, release and indemnity agreements, share subscription agreements, convertible note agreements, supply, distribution and manufacturing agreements, referral agreements, licence agreements and terms and conditions).
    Reporting to the Divisional Leader who is also a Director of the Firm and recognised by his peers as the Lawyers Weekly – Commercial Partner of the Year for 2022, the position is based in our new state-of-the-art Sydney CBD office and offers enormous potential for personal and professional growth, and access to an abundance of support and expertise within our organisation.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 2 to 6 years’ legal experience PQE;
  • commercial and corporate experience;
  • excellent drafting skills;
  • strong research and analysis skills with an ability to apply critical thinking;
  • dedication to providing excellence in client services;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • flexible approach to clients and colleagues;
  • capacity to be self-managed and be self-motivated;
  • capacity to work as part of a team;
  • willingness to mentor and lead junior staff;
  • ideally experience from a reputable law firm; and
  • real property experience.
