Job Title: Associate/Senior Associate – Construction Law / Commercial Litigation Law

Location: Brisbane – Fortitude Valley

Becker Watt Lawyers is a boutique construction law firm located in Fortitude Valley. We represent a broad range of clients in the construction industry.

Remuneration 

The salary range is $80,000 to $170,000 + super and KPI-based bonus scheme.

About the Role

This is a senior mentoring role. You will be advising clients on a wide range of building & construction matters, such as dispute resolution, construction agreements, construction disputes and construction litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee a diverse range of legal cases across multiple areas within the construction law space e.g., Litigation’s, Adjudication, QBCC and alternate dispute resolutions.
• Provide accurate, timely, and strategic legal advice to clients.
• Conduct and manage all phases of litigation including trials, arbitrations, mediations, and settlements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents and agreements.
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and legal support staff.
• Liaise with senior management and provide clear and concise reports.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures.
• Participate actively in business development activities to expand the firm’s client base and market presence.
• Stay abreast of legal developments and changes in the law to ensure the firm and its clients are in a position of advantage.

Qualifications/Ideal applicant

• A relevant Australian Law degree.
• PAE: 5 – 10+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Admission to practice law in QLD is a must, NSW and VIC (not compulsory)
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex cases independently.
• Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
