Company 

Our client is a market-leading international company offering a diverse and interesting in-house legal role. Working across the Business and Industry, Healthcare, Education, Defence, and Energy and Resources sectors, and with a positive outlook, this role will appeal to a capable commercial / corporate or energy lawyer who is ready to join a thriving business and a growing friendly and dynamic legal team.

Role

Enjoying good support, this role itself is broad and will provide substantial responsibility and opportunity. You will work closely with the collaborative General Counsel (ex top-tier) in a small team and other key managers as you assist with the legal function and become involved in significant legal matters for the business.

You will manage, negotiate, and draft a suite of contracts and commercial agreements, advise on regulatory issues and governance risks, and assist with other legal issues related to a large base of suppliers. You will be working with key stakeholders across all levels of the business about negotiations, keeping the business up to date with new and existing legislation, and providing support to a strong compliance framework with guidance and training. Be the influential and trusted advisor as the business continues to grow rapidly in this dynamic environment.

Work can include general commercial, corporate/mergers & acquisitions, energy, projects, procurement, property and intellectual property and trademarks, insurance, and privacy.
  
Skills/Experience

To take on this position you will be at least 4 years PQE and up to about 10 PQE, and be a front-end commercial lawyer. Training in a well regarded firm or in-house will be important, and the ability to get on well with people from a range of backgrounds will assist in your success. You should be commercially-minded rather than just a black-letter lawyer.
