Our client is a leading ASX listed company offering a diverse and interesting in-house legal role. With a positive outlook, this role will appeal to a capable commercial / corporate or energy, or banking lawyer who is ready to join a thriving business and a growing friendly and dynamic legal team. A truly broad and commercially based role, this will encourage an in-house counsel to play a key role in the business over time. Role

Enjoying good support, this role itself is broad and will provide substantial responsibility and opportunity. You will work closely with the General Counsel (ex top-tier) and other key managers as you assist with the legal function and become involved in significant legal matters for the business, including general commercial, corporate/mergers & acquisitions, energy, projects, company structuring, and procurement, property and intellectual property and trademarks, insurance, and privacy. Also work on significant contracts, risk mitigation, and compliance. A good drafter with negotiation skills is required.
  
Skills/Experience

To take on this position you will be at least 3 years PQE and up to about 7 PQE, and be a front-end commercial lawyer. Training in a well regarded firm or in-house will be important, and the ability to get on well with people from a range of backgrounds will assist in your success. You should be commercially-minded rather than just a black-letter lawyer.
